UX Design Trends 2022: The Future Of The UX Industry:

I think it’s extremely important that we help shape this future also. While some of these areas certainly lay in our future, we need to exercise critical to represent our users needs.
In particular web 3.0 right now would be a step backwards, and current proposals for the format it would take in reality don’t provide a net benefit to our users.
One of the key tenants of our practice is to be led by our users, delivering on their needs and solving their problems. We sit at the cross over point to choose and develop solutions to suit our users, and push for consideration of the end user in emerging technologies.
Excellent work to raise these issues rather than discuss the aesthetic, but rather than be led by technology, technology needs to follow our users need.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing
Appreciate 👏🙏👍
Great video Maureen. For me AI is the key thing. AI will allow user experience and user centric development to grow at exponential speeds in the following decade. That means companies and other entities will get to know people better than they know themselves. This is a positive new industrial revolution (in my view) because products and services will be adequate (almost to perfection) to people at personal level. Imagine a service pointing to the best community of people you could be part of, imagine a service pointing to the best possible love match in the world, imagine a service bringing the best motivational videos suited just for you, imagine a clothing company offering you the clothes that you will love the most, imagine a service that suggests the best travel journey (and destinations) based on your interests at that time… The possibilities are endless. AI is nothing to be afraid of. AI is like a hamer, you can use it to fix your door, or to hit somebody in the head. It will depend on how humans use it. Thank you!
When I hear the part about AI – oh damn it, really, just read at least one single book about cocsiousness, omg… Seriously, this is such an awkward feeling when you hear someone says such a trash so confidently but isnstead of them you feel awkward yourself. Gosh
Nice
If I have front end coding skills and want to also get into UX design, will that give me an upper hand?
Glad to see AI on the list. Within AI, there’s a focus around Conversational UIs. I have also added my take on What is Conversation Design as well, if anyone interested 🙂
Loved it. You explained a lot of things. Thanks a lot.
She sounds so dutch
I love UX!!!❤
you really see holographic as a design trend for 2022?
The future AI will destroy the entire human race
You explained very well, Thank you soo much.
You are beautiful 😭😭
Wow. This was beyond helpful. I especially loved that you called out your own bias at the end and opened up for conversation. Hooray for UX design! This has me very excited for expanding inclusive practices within corporate organizations while remaining steadfast in an ever-changing industry.
1) the "only trained for light skin" is a fallacy. Cameras at the time had trouble with the lighting off of dark skin. It was and is literally a technical problem. Ask ANYONE who works in film. 2) The internet wasn’t "created by government and educational institutions" it was created by individuals and enabled through resources in the universities but people were hosting bulletin boards way before the government got involved. As per usual, the government just came in at the end to finish it to bend to their needs. That was 15 years before you were even a thought in your mother’s mind, so the "education" you received on this topic is just propaganda you’ve consumed by people who want to rewrite history.
Awesome overview which we don’t get usually. And companies are doing all old dinosaur times of concepts and want improvements. This is the right approach. Thank you.
ai for information architecture 😂😂 ai racial discrimination 😂 holograms 😂 this video is hilarious!! very entertaining. sci-fi and outdated at the same time 🤣
What is some AI that generates wireframes based on best practices? I would love to try it out and I couldn’t find anything on the web.

Hey, this is an online bootcamp right?
This has nothing to do with UX but a bunch of garbage filler.
super! so cool! thank you!:)
Thank you so much
Your head is in the clouds. UX/UI design is actually really behind. UX/UI didn’t take off until 2015 – 5 years after everyone already had a smartphone in their hands.
VR/AR is still in the toddler stage, it will be at least a decade before everyone has VR/AR device and another half decade before UX/UI designers get into it. Game and software developers will work on it waaayy beofre UX/UI designers. Remember that the digital UX/UI industry as it is today exists as a gimmick offshoot of web design
VR and AR in nomination “the most trendy and perspective technology of the year” … since 2013. Rip Google glass.
Trends which get people OFF their phones and talking to each other in person are the ones i’m interested in
Delicious content for my brain😋. I agree with Maureen’s points 100% about the future of UX design because it lines up with what i know would happen in the future. Thank You for this insightful content>>>
Thank you. Do you advise on zoom?
I hope AR, VR etc the worst of luck.
People need to get more into the REAL world, not become even more detached from reality.
VR : you going into fantasy world
AR: Fantasy coming out in the real world
Nice video….i think you should also talk about how behavioural design is placed in current UX design trends.
is it true that PMs and Business Analyst will be replacing the UX designers? People say that Ux designers should be more inclined towards business and help in improving the user experiences .. don’t you think PMs and Business Analyst can do the same… like user research, Making wireframes and all..
Very interesting topics and I love the intro breaking the usual points about UX/UI trends (Glassmorphism and other design trendy "shitty" stuff 🙂 Everything was very clearly explained, thank you!
Interaction design Is have good future?
The content of this video is good, but unfortunately the title of the video is misleading. It was a complete waste of my time since I wanted to see "UX Design Trends 2022".
I Love this video!!!!❤️ Now on my Favorite folder .
Look the emphasis on AI!
Finally something NEW, not palettes, no isometric "trends", no weird posters! Finally useful knowledge not a hype, thank you!
Or Or Maybe it’s because it’s easier to see lines and stuff in light color than darker color. It’s not discrimination, it’s a side effect. It’s only discrimination because Trump won 2016.
Interesting, she would be a wonderful person to carry on a conversation with. Her discussion raised more questions. I’m interested in what tools would be used in UX/UI in a multiverse. How does one do UX for three dimensional space. Also, how does this impact older designers that may still be 15 years away from retirement. Like many I made the transition (over 30 years) from graphic designer, to senior graphic designer to animated designer, web designer (in which we could include developer because we had to learn HTML and CSS to see our content), to UX/UI Designer. I agree that we are in a transitional state. My current roles, almost w/o exception have me teaching or educating stake holders and project owners on the use of FIGMA and Adobe XD, additionally we have to have at least a working knowledge of HTML and CSS when our files are sent to development. This being said I’ve met a couple young UX/UI Designers who just graduated, some from major universities that have absolutely NO knowledge of code. I found this ASTOUNDING! Which brings up a hypothetical, could developers be partially replaced by AI? hmmmm…. takes me back to the movie Disclosure with Demi Moore and Michael Douglas. Would love to have a discussion offline with this lady.
Every detail in this video , personality, depth of knowledge and simplicity of expression, lighting, audio and setting kept me engaged until the very end – and wanting more. I notice also your level of engagement with those who have commented and your responses to each individual. Perhaps the reassurance that we will not wander into the future and find ourselves lost (!) and outwitted by secret algorithms is needed.
Cloud based VR/AR are super wasteful for the environment. Its sad to see something that isn’t as beautiful as our real live Earth killing our planet. I refunse to ever design for such a wasteful, tacky space. YUCK.

Hi,
Really interesting content. May I know Maureen Herben’s email address, please? Just to discuss a few research possibilities regarding UX maturity and Extended Reality Concepts.
Thanks a lot.
I just found your channel. This is the second video I watched and I’m glad I did because 5 months later after the hype has died down is much easier to see how you’re pushing shams with no reliable understanding. I’m speaking about your vague and unreliable (hype-driven) description about Web3.0. Do you really know what you’re talking about?
the only shitty thing about this video is me and some people clicked this video just for maureens face
