The New Youngest Self-Made Billionaire In The World Is A 25-Year-Old College Dropout | Forbes
When Massachusetts Institute of Technology dropout Alexandr Wang made the Forbes 30 Under 30 Enterprise Technology list in 2018, his startup Scale used artificial intelligence to begin automating tasks like image recognition and audio transcription. Back then, its customers included GM Cruise, Alphabet, Uber, P&G and others
Now Wang, 25, is the youngest self-made billionaire. And while he still partners with buzzy companies, today he’s got $350 million in government defense contracts. This has helped Scale hit a $7.3 billion valuation, and give Wang a $1 billion net worth (as he owns 15% of the company).
Scale’s technology analyzes satellite images much faster than human analysts to determine how much damage Russian bombs are causing in Ukraine. It’s useful not just for the military. More than 300 companies, including General Motors and Flexport, use Scale, which Wang started when he was 19, to help them pan gold from rivers of raw information—millions of shipping documents, say, or raw footage from self-driving cars. “Every industry is sitting on huge amounts of data,” Wang says, who appeared on the Forbes Under 30 list in 2018. “Our goal is to help them unlock the potential of the data and supercharge their businesses with AI.”

Alexander Wang 😂
“Self-made billionaire” barf
definitely a role model for me.
"I like him." Bruce Willis, 2022
College dropping out is the way to go im going for real estate for way cheaper than college
war money…..
This guy fleeced billions from investors. Such an inspirational story Forbes
Practical nerd ❤️❤️❤️
25 with 100 years worth of knowledge
He’s one of the few to achieve this. Hats off to him! Hope He does well!
Y’all can’t watch someone succeed without throwing in passive aggressive jabs about how his upbringing is privileged.
I HAVE BEEN MAKING LOSSES TRADING MYSELF…I THOUGHT TRADING ON DEMO ACCOUNT IS JUST LIKE TRADING THE REAL MARKET… CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT OR AT LEAST ADVICE ME ON WHAT TO DO?
No one cares about this kid
Can i work with you’re company bro
how to become a billionaire: be a college dropout : )
Love this
All stars aligned for this kid. 👍
I’m so proud of this young man, his story is truly inspiring!
As a Maths student, I would have to disagree. As a discipline it’s actually very creative, almost artistic, and even though you might not get to an answer, what you learn trying to get there can be very valuable. Unfortunately, this is not normally conveyed in high school
His parents worked at Los Alamos.
That is the upper echelon of labs working with the government.
Looks like he took the baton from his parents and put a jetpack on…
There are some Steve Jobs vibes within Wang
Him being a dropout means nothing. Getting into MIT is enough.
Dam nice hand you got given there. Props to you it wasn’t like a dope fiend mom who prostituted herself then died by getting shot by her pimp of a husband callled dad. Then transported to 11 different foster homes as a child. Some people draw aces others don’t draw jack.
Survival of the fittest, richest and linked……….analyze not judge
Thank you so much for helping Ukraine, everyone 🇺🇦❤️🙏
We love you ❤️

anyone else would rather hear failure stories than success? I feel like these success stories are always biased because they suffer from survivorship bias. They’re literally always generic lol. I’d rather see why a business or idea has failed to come to fruitation! so you can avoid other people’s mistakes..
stay in school, kids 🙂
Why drop out? Why not finish school? It’s just 4 years. If you are smart, you can finish in 3 years.
Thank god. Thought he was Chinese
Let’s be honest, he is the better young self made billionaire. Kylie jenner got all the money from her parents and fans.
That is the same guy who fired Joma
Sorry, didn’t accept him in the first place
Can we stop with this "self-made" BS? No one accomplishes anything great on their own and I’m pretty sure his mom takes issue with this title given all the work she put in early on to teach her son the foundations for better chances at success.
With inflation hitting people really hard and with the economïc recession, it’s no surprise that people are feeling the impact of the market crash. I realized that the secret to surviving the market, making profíts and attaining financial security is by making better :nvestment decision. Despite the recession, I’ve been able to make over 380k with a start up of 70k. The market is dynamic, and irrespective of the crash there’s still a lot to be made, make the most of it
Isn’t this the person that joma talks about lmao?
Ah yes another reason to hate myself today
It seems like this video introduces another candidate to be featured in a bankruptcy news sooner or later…
HES amazing 😭
I came here to learn how to invest after listening to a guy on a television program about the importance of investing and how he made $460,000 in 4 months from $160k, somehow this video has helped shed light on some things, but I’m still confused, I’m a newbie and I’m open to ideas.
Best of best
Forbes needs to really re define what self made billionaires are. Just my opinion
Gang in lee..?
I always thought that less kids is better than a bunch of kids when parents can focus on teaching them subjects that interests the kid, which leads to a better life
Another one of those "self-made mil,bil,whatever-onaire" even Elon Musk had a rich daddy.
At 21, I’m struggling to get through school, however this guy has a vastly different story to tell. You can’t easily achieve success in one go. It takes every ounce of gradual determination, patience, and hard work to make everything work out in the end. Somehow he seems to know what direction he’s heading in life. We all have varying paces in our lives. Some may turn out successful while the others do not.
Reconstruction is needed in Ukraine , sign me in thru your company .
Layers of neurons fed a dataset and you ask it to tell you if something is X or Y. If it’s wrong, you tell it it’s wrong. If it’s right, you tell it it’s right. Do this many many times and eventually the model reaches a high level of accuracy.
This very simplistic form of AI.
Is this the guy that rejected joma?
