Thanks for sharing! God bless you!ππ
Is it safe to assume all of these recommendations are also the best way to clean video monitors?
Doesn’t the microfiber cloth contain tap water minerals left over from washing? It might not be much, but they are most certainly there. I hardly think that anyone is going to wash their cloths in distilled water. LOL
Anyone know how to get poop off the screen? Asking for a friend.
Where do you get a TV that lasts long enough to clean?
Microfiber towel with dish soap and waterβ¦
Oh, its very easy, just throw some eggs at the TV. I saw this method once on Youtube, and it helped me a lot to clean my TV
Just buy new tv th
You’re right! I’ve been doing it wrong. Thanks so much for this informative video. God bless you! Tchau.
This is exactly right, I use this regularly on my big screen and it works perfectly. It helps that I keep distilled water around to refill my P.C. coolant loops, and is handy for other jobs as well.
DIGITAL TRENDS IS GREAT, ELSEWHERE TOO, AND CALEB IS DA MAN. THANK YOU.
Use windex all the time, just used it on a brand new 75β tv,used it for seven years on my 65β tv,sorry dude it works fine and doesnβt ruin the screen at all.
Nose juice from the dog is the toughest to get off.
Your side burns are more disturbing than the smudges on the screen
Iβve tried that electronics wipes for my tv and it left streak marks and it was terrible is their anything else
Wow!! Thx 4 the info!!
Infomercial
I have used a 25% ammonia solution in tap water with paper towels for the last 20 years. No problems.
Did you know Windex was a no-go? Now you know. Thanks for watching everyone!
I do exactly this.
WTF this guy is talking about…. Minerals in a water can scratch your screen?? hahahaha:P He does not know what he is talking about…..
Don’t watch Digital Trends because this channel can damage your eyes. Watch the competitor instead, the one where I get a kickback on sales. This video is right up there with "How to wipe your own butt" and "How to correctly use a light switch."
Can’t say I ever used distilled water. Just regular tap water, but not much. Just droplets to get it the microfiber cloth a tiny bit moist or very small dips for the worst stains. My 3 year old high-end TV still looks as good as the day I got it. No scratches or stains or spots can be seen at all, no matter the angle and light. But I suppose that the tap water quality in my country is excellent and better than any bottled water you can get (Netherlands). I also don’t clean the screen a whole lot, but for some reason the screen hasn’t attracted a lot of dust ever since I started living in my new place about a year and a half ago.
So…. I’m not supposed to use Clorox spray and steel wool to clean my screen? The world doesn’t make sense anymore.
Water with a Lil Vinegar isnt Kosher for screens??
Using water to clean screens only barely works. They should stop using glass that is so difficult to clean. I use the wipes instead of carting a bottle of distilled water around with me.

Tried it and ended up with a much bigger smudge on the screen??? ππππ
I have literally never cleaned a tv screen in my life.
I don’t mean this as an insult in any way what so ever, but if Caleb had a moustache in this video he’d look just like Ron Swanson from Parks & Rec!

TLDR: WATER AND MICROFIBRE CLOTH
I find degreaser with rubbing compound to clean the best. π
Hi
great advice ! window cleaner usually has acid in it which erodes the lcd, seems like a good idea but the worst thing you can do!
This could have been said in ten seconds. He takes four minutes
I understand all this! I had a really bad experience with Sony Bravia, dust entering inside the screen. The service centre just cleaned till the warranty got elapsed instead of replacing the piece. And it’s a reoccurring issue. How could dust enter inside?? If they are designing TV so poorly that in your bedroom dust is entering, then they should mention- Only for BIOLABS, NASA laboratories! My childhood Picture tube TV was 1000 times more dust proof than this!
I need to turn my head when I sneeze. That’s a joke.
Bought a 4kU monitor. Got drunk. Threw up 6 feet away. Found specs on screen and nothing seemed to shift them, and was worried about damaging the cells under the screen. Yeay for this video! Also… you’d be very surprised how far vomit travels…. consider a clear perspex film in front of expensive kit if you’re a drinker…
I use spit and saw dust
So you actually think minerals in tap water will scratch your screen but removing dust with a dry microfiber towel will not scratch your screen with dust particles that are SIGNIFICANTLY LARGER than dissolved minerals in tap water? Absurd. π€¦π»ββοΈπ€£
