12:50 You’re thinking of Loop by TerraCycle. They’re partnering with lots of major brands to offer consumable goods in quality reusable packaging.

I’m convinced there will be a non-sexual OnlyFans page that goes viral for something simple such as a camera posted on a forklift.

Love how they absolutely trash the supply chain manufacturing space in the beginning, and then follow up to give ideas that all require those in the supply chain manufacturing space lmao love it

I love this podcast and the value that it provides me but as an african immigrant it is hilarious the amount of energy spent on secondary issues by western people, it is surely an issue that can or could grow into a bigger global issue but it’s also kinda hippocritical to think about such things with all the major global issues that are past due to be solved, anyways thanks for attending to my TedCommentTalk

The reason we can’t have manufacturing near demand is because of labor costs. Material and capital can flow easily through borders – people cannot.

Shaan seems to be living in a delusional world of supply chain. No decent business will let you in for casual walk in tours inside their facilities. You can’t make everything in your own. Just because you have magical sophisticated 3d printers (not to mention they are very expensive) and all the raw materials you wanna use for home manufacturing has to be delivered to you in the same way with planes, ships and trucks using/wasting the same amount of energy and human resources.

Shaan’s commentary on the mic cover just made me realize one thing. The sheer size of the carbon footprint of every single item in my house is probably so huge that I probably will never be able to be carbon neutral . Localized manufacturing is the key to a greener planet.
