A North Carolina family is pushing for answers after 25-year-old Shanquella Robinson died on a trip with friends to Mexico last month. Her mother talked with CBS News’ Anne-Marie Green and Dana Jacobson about why she doesn’t believe her daughter died of alcohol poisoning, as she was initially told.

My heart really feels for the loss of this beautiful woman. Today I watched a video on this and it brought me to tears. Her "friends" beating on her in their room and recorded it at that! This is just pure evil. People, PLEASE be careful who you call your friends! Not everyone wants to see you successful or even happy. The people who are meant to be in your life will love you endlessly, not ask "why aren’t you fighting back" while you’re getting beat on by someone. What kind of f**k s**t is that? I pray that she finds peace, and I pray that her family will have peace too. Send those "friends" to f**king prison for life.
I will never visit there again. Me and my family visit there and my son had gotten sick and had to go to the hospital when we had gotten back home. Blacks need to be careful going anywhere.

Two of the girls is on the run. That’s guilt, I knew from their stories that it just add up. I knew the so called friends did it. Lock them up in a Mexican prison. After the Mexican prison, they need more federal time in the US.
And what a total goddess Shanquella was! Clearly she was killed because of jealousy. A very beautiful woman indeed!

Wow…this really makes me sad as a mother. I truly have sympathy for this. I think it’s more complicated for answers because this happened outside of the United States. I feel like all the "so called friends" need to be interrogated and have a lie detector down ASAP. The victim is dead and gone while they’re still living. She seemed very successful and smart and I’m sure they were jealous of her and wanted this to happen.
I read on the news, this girl could have been saved if they told the truth to the doctor.

I’m sorry to say this but Mexican authorities don’t care. 1 out of 100 cases actually get solved. Hopefully this is one of the cases that get solved. 🙏
I’m wondering if she can get a lawyer or paralegal that’s fluent in Spanish to go w/ her out there to speak with the police.
