So for all his appeals to individualistic thinking, in the final analysis, he calls people “narcissistic” and appeals to community and others so as to overrule the individual. Peterson is full of contradiction.

With all due respects, Dr. Jordan Peterson, the "Church" you talk about is not the problem. First and foremost, the word ‘Church’ is only uttered once by the Lord Jesus, the Christ, in the New Testament. The problem is the human creature, because he/she has been deprived of the TRUTH and the capacity to Love when he/she lapsed into Sin. This state of depravation is the curse that the Lord God (revealed in Scripture) has put into the soul of each man and woman (who will have been born) from the moment they chose to disobey the Lord God’s command. As a result the church you speak of is not exempted from this curse! *("It all started, in some sense, with the lectures on Genesis in 2017…")
Why and how could you have missed this "core" issue in the course of giving lectures on Genesis is a mystery to me. I sense a hint of Existentialism in your lectures and discussions. Am I wrong?

Nowadays they conform to the progressive movement afraid of offending someone.

Original sin is not a biblical doctrine. If we were born sinners then babies and small children if they should die would be in Hell. The reason being is because they would have to have the capability to Repent and trust in YAHUSHA for the remission of sins. However born into a sinful world would make more sense.
I am a young man who goes to church. I have found that when young people come to Christ, they are the most on fire christians I have met.
I’m an ex-Catholic but I really agree with this message in general. It feels very Jungian. We need churches. We need people. And boys are getting very mixed messages. They don’t know how to be “good” if they don’t know what good is.
On the other hand, the video was hard to watch. Super preachy and brimstoney.
It will fix the world right up…..I just think man has drifted to far to recognize what it is that used to make civilization work.

The church is not a means to an end, but an end in itself. The church is the body of Christ, not a building. The church is the bride of Christ, and we are waiting faithfully for Him to return. The Bible is not an allegory nor is it a supplement to our existence. Rather it is the way we can know the reason for our existence. The Bible is meant to be taken literally, because it is the word of God. He doesn’t need our help reconstructing His word or tweaking it to be about us. The Bible is God’s gift to us, that we may know Him and come to a saving knowledge of Him, that we may worship Him rightly. It’s purpose isn’t to necessarily help our marriages, our country or the world although those things could happen. The end result is so that we may put our faith in Christ who died on the cross paying for our sin, because it is only by faith in Christ that we can receive this gift. I know because 18 months ago after hearing the gospel, I asked Christ to forgive me, and He did, just like the Bible says. I was born again and I had new appetites and desires, just like the Bible says. Every promise that God makes in the Bible is true and you can take that to the bank. I struggled for many years with psychology, philosophy and pantheistic views which only left me with more questions than answers. It was only when i surrendered to Christ’s Lordship did he relieve me of that horrific burden. I pray that if you have read this comment to the end, you would seek the Lord with all your heart. Understand that He loves you, but He wants you to return to Him and love Him back. It is our sin which is separating us from Him, and as long as we choose our sin we will eventually die in our sin. But God has given us a way to come back to Him, to remove our sin and to live our lives honoring Him every day! That is through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He took all of God’s wrath for any who would believe in Him, the wrath which was meant for us. All we have to do is admit, admit that we need a savior and that we can’t save ourselves. Then submit, submit to the only one who can save you as Lord. Many people wouldn’t mind being saved, but to submit to Christ as Lord means that we aren’t going to just jump right back into our sin. It means that we are done doing things our way, and we are going to give Christ full control over our lives, every day. And finally it means that you have to repent. This is what is lacking in most gospel presentations. It means that you must turn from your sin 180 degrees and forsake it, lest you forsake Christ. It begins by praying to God, praying from a broken and contrite heart. I hope you will pray for forgiveness, I hope you will pray for salvation from the one who died so you might, on this day, be reconciled to Him.
I’m a 37 Yr old Christian woman, but I stopped going to church about 4yrs ago. The churches in my area are all so unwelcoming and the people tend to exclude anyone they don’t know, or those that don’t believe exactly what they believe. This shows in the amount of different denominations there are in the area.
There was even people in the church that I overheard telling others not to mix with a certain person because they believed something slightly differently.
Unfortunately until this changes in my area, there will be little positive impact for the community.

Hi Jordan. My church crossroads in cincinnati has a group called young adults. I have been in a few groups within this structure but feel i may have to try another group. Sometimes you arent going to get the ideal experience but its up to you to try different groups and be the kind of person that the church needs.
