6 Fashion Trends That Are Over in 2022 & What To Wear Instead

We all know that anything looks great with the right attitude but I’m noticing a bit of a shift away from a few of our fave fashion looks and thought you may like to find out more. I admit it may be a bit of a stretch to say these trends are over but they’ve definitely had their moment to shine so maybe just maybe it’s time to press pause on them for a while and shift our focus a little to freshen up our look. So here are six trends that I’m phasing out (which doesn’t mean I’m not wearing them ever again – I probs just won’t be wearing them as much and I definitely won’t be buying them. I’d love to hear if you agree or disagree with any of the trends I mention in today’s video too. I always love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for watching.

So, now perfectly good clothes must be dumped and new ones bought just because Paris needs more money from foolish, follow the herd females who hope to attract male companionship. Grow up and get smart! Men choose women because of their personalities and common interests. Now, some will say its not about men, but excessive cleavage, high heels and super short skirts and makeup that makes the lips appear engorged with blood are exactly lust-causing. Plastic surgery, another way to excite males. Female liberation is working in the wrong areas to make positive changes…….just MY opinion. Rude responses are welcome, or just say nothing, but look inward for the truth. Have a nice day!

No to low waist anything! I realize skinny jeans are going out of style but can the slouchy pants still have a high waist?

Neutrals are classic! Its basic items in our closet that if we dont know what to wear we go for neutral colors. And the baggy trousers are never attractive or look sexy. I’d still go for skinny jeans.

Skinny jeans look timeless. You can dress them up. Not everyone can wear baggy pants.

  17. Admin2020 on October 23, 2022 at 6:24 am

I think the platform shoes make most people look bottom heavy and they draw your eye down and the mid boots make your legs look short. Fine for tall models who can balance it out. I would love some wider trousers but I have a tummy and a flat bottom so I’ve unfortunately not been able to find anything. I find the balance between trend and style difficult to navigate. Trends look great on models but not so good on real women in real life.

Thanks for that presentation. I was a bit sad that with the increase of concerns on ethics in fashion the vibrant colors came back on trend as, most of the time, they are overdyed in factories without much ecological concerns. I would advice to pair new fair trade ecological neutrals with either second hand, upcycled or colorful pieces we already have or borough from a friendly sister. The waterwise dyeing certifications are quite rare, but there is some, and natural dyes are usually washing off quickly. Aerating a natural dyed item, deodorise it, spot-clean the stains and washing it less often help to preserve the color in a more ecofriendly way. As well as drying it out of direct sunlight. Some natural dyes also have antibacterial properties that should be advertised better.

When buying a new item with a color made of a synthetic dye, you can immerge it in water for the night before to wash it, so the overdye is getting off the fabric. That dark water is an important source of pollution, but some plants, like the petunias are usually able to decontaminate it a bit. The water treatment plants are also burning the wastes in their filters so it generates C02.

As for cowboy boots, animal skins or petroleum synthetic materials aren’t really appealing to me and I would rather invest my money in new ecological shoe brands than make what seem to me to be a fashion non sense and mistake in this time of climate change.

I’m sorry but those trousers are not universally flattering 😂😂 I do love the pop of colour (though I don’t have a lot of brighter colour clothing), the platforms (I’m petite, any added height is welcomed), preppy looks cute, boots at that length looks bad on people like me cause we are short plus have studier looking legs, i always love crops so that’s perfect

Best "trend" is to have your own style and not follow arbitrary trends and trying to look like everyone else.

  31. Victoria Biel on October 23, 2022 at 6:39 am

Oversized, slouchy pants? Oh, sure. We all can’t wait to look sloppy, frumpy, and fat. Please don’t insult us with ridiculous, ugly fashion trends.

  32. Carol Maughan on October 23, 2022 at 6:41 am

Great video but I do wonder how baggy trousers trailing along the ground can be considered sophisticated – an inch or two off would make such a difference IMO! As one in the UK thank you so much for mentioning the northern hemisphere

  33. Josephine Burns on October 23, 2022 at 6:41 am

I’m a little sad about neutrals & corset tops. I loved these styles. Hopefully they come back in soon!

I think is better if you could show up the clothes or shoes while you are talking. So the viewers know what you talking about.

I love the twill cargo joggers. I’m 51 and got rid of all my skinny jeans, they’re packed away until they come back in style. I always get lots of compliments when I wear my twill cargo joggers. They look cool with puff sleeve tops.

I might have my wardrobe stuck in earlier years.
But being short I know what looks better on me.
When you feel good, you look good. Confidence makes a difference.
Appreciate influencers showing what they consider up to date.
Just as decorating your house, you can get some really good ideas but it is your home….your body…
    Make your own decisions.
    Wear what makes you feel
Happy!!!! A smile is your best assessory!

I’m not sure if I haven’t been alive long enough or if there really is a revolt going on.
But I see and hear comments like many of the below, frequently, about current fashion trends.

I think ‘fashion’ needs to listen to the people. I’m loving seeing colour make a come back, but sparingly for statement dresses or accessories for example.

IT IS too hard to style everyday outfits with so many colours in your wardrobe. Neutrals make it easy and more affordable because each piece can be paired with so many other wardrobe items.

I’m finding physical shopping harder and harder, with only the more ‘current’ styles on the shelves. In the past, I’ve loved seeing what a new season would bring. But at the moment, it’s too much. It’s like the worst of 80s and 90s fashion got together and had a baby. I’m seeing bright colours, a kitten flared heel and multiple textures all in one shoe design! Flared mini skirts with colours of brown, muted apple green, sky blue, and dull orange!!

Already people are seen getting around in lingerie as regular clothes, I don’t think I’m ready for full blown nudity, but it seems like that’s the only outrageous thing left to try!

The end of skinny jeans made me quit jeans and trousers altogether. I live in skirts these days and it is so comfortable. I do not understand why I did not start earlier

In indonesia, we got these categories that are still on trend: cake girl (girls who wear colorful pastels), mamba girl (girls who wears mostly black), and earthy girl (girls who wear earthy neutrals and opt for handcrafted local bags). ❤
