Your make-up tutorial is 💥. Indeed, you look like a French woman after all these steps.

This is so true! My mother is French and this is what she taught me: don’t try to change your face, just enhance your best features. And the goal is to look like you’re not wearing any makeup at all. Angela, your French makeup is the most authentic I’ve seen!

  4. Magdalena Ubaldo on December 11, 2022 at 2:20 am

Hi, that was a cute video but not for us American girls nothing but a glamorous chick makeup 😊

  5. R. P. on December 11, 2022 at 2:22 am

Such an accurate representation of the Parisian makeup. I lived in Paris for many years, in my 20’s and the only difference is that I used the black line I add in the outer corner of my eye, not the eyelid shadow. I never used foundation but now, I do, very little indeed. So pretty.

  7. Kikinomad on December 11, 2022 at 2:23 am

I’m so happy I stumbled upon your channel, Angela. I love this look! It enhances all of your beautiful facial features. I have never even thought about using a blush in that color! I’m going to see if I can find something similar that would work for my skin tone.
As for sunscreen as you’ve mentioned, it’s so important to reapply. I have a sunscreen compact from my dermatologist (sunbetter Advanced Mineral Protection 68 spf) that I carry with me everywhere. There are also some powder sunscreens you can use for reapplying to your face and even in the parting of your hair. I wish I had been better about sunscreen in my youth. It’s one of the most important aspects of skincare.

But do the French groom their armpits or appreciate their " Natural" beauty as well?

  9. Paula Morris on December 11, 2022 at 2:26 am

I love the sophisticate palette! Nobody talks about it but it is so simple and soft. A classic must have

  10. Liz Horton on December 11, 2022 at 2:26 am

I have Germanic/Italian/Hungarian european genetics (light skin, blue eyes and dark blonde hair with highlights). I tend to always mix my lipsticks. A darker rosy pink base (like Tom Ford ‘Indian Rose’) with a more nude/neutral center like Nars ‘Barbara’ or Revlon ‘Nude Attitude’. They kind of mix together to form a rosy-tan neutral which is just the right amount of color but doesn’t wash me out. I like to line lips with CT Pillow Talk or Mac Whirl.

Just to be clear … it doesn’t appear you used any eyeliner or bottom lash mascara. Is that correct?

    Beautiful!❤

  13. Kristina Taddei on December 11, 2022 at 2:29 am

Less is more….I think the French women know what "true beauty" is…..when I was a teenager my mother didn’t allow me to wear makeup, so I had to look like I wasn’t wearing any, but I was….

Concealer that brightens under the eyes is good if you wear glasses. But I do it subtle.

  18. Anna Zarasyan on December 11, 2022 at 2:35 am

Great video, Angela. One thing I couldn’t get was, why would you need two layers of SPF if you’re not going to the beach? Surely, if the day is spent at the office, the sun exposure would be minimal… no?

  19. Makeup Box FYI on December 11, 2022 at 2:38 am

Beautiful look Angela! I’m so used to color and sparkle, I really love to see a more subdue makeup look❤

    1) No need to repeat same info. over and over. 2) If this video is about 10 min make up lesson – go strait to it. I don’t give a rat’s ass about your business trips.

  23. Zena Braithwaite on December 11, 2022 at 2:43 am

It looks lovely but I wouldn’t use tinted moisturiser on top of skincare and SPF as it will just lay on the top and get over glowy very quickly; better to use a light foundation on a damp sponge or use a tinted SPF.

  24. Sonia Gordon on December 11, 2022 at 2:44 am

l have a true story! I watched this video last night. This morning I tried it out just as you described. I went into the local post office this afternoon and an elegant older lady was at the counter sending a parcel to France. I live in a small town in Australia. We chatted a bit and she said “I thought when you walked in – this girl looks French” A. I am 60 yrs old and B. I am not French. But thank you Angela! ❤

  29. Lisa Nelson on December 11, 2022 at 2:48 am

Beautiful- could you please share what blush brush you used? It looked like a natural hair brush with a nice shape!!!! Thank you ❤

  33. P Heart on December 11, 2022 at 2:50 am

My favourite lip colour is YSL beige blouse. Unfortunately it seems to have been discontinued. Shame, because its a perfect pinky nude. I have 1 tube left…one..tube…😟

  34. Jacqueline Noel on December 11, 2022 at 2:51 am

Very lovely look! I’m blonde and pale. I would be thrilled to see a tutorial for all of us fair complexion ladies.
    Thank you! Jacqueline N.

The blotting of the lipstick, the reapplying and powdering over the lips with a tissue is the way they did it in the 1950s. Nothing has changed. It worked perfectly then as it does now. I did exactly this myself from that decade.

  36. Hollie Drake on December 11, 2022 at 2:56 am

Not from Paris but blotting the lipstick is a very old tip or trick. My Canadian mother is now 88 years old and when I was a little girl I would watch my mother put on her makeup and I always saw my mom blot her lipstick with tissue to complete her look. Depending on what type of lipstick I use, I will blot my lipstick too because of her doing it when I was little.

  37. Bit & Rudder on December 11, 2022 at 3:00 am

Fun video! I think my mostly French DNA accounts for how attracted I have been to minimal makeup 😊. I resonate completely with the idea of showcasing your own beauty instead of painting on someone else’s ideas. I was just in Mexico and it was so interesting to see how much make up the women slather on, not even necessarily using A cooler color palette when they’re coloring really wanted that. They apply a warm color palette by default, probably because most people there do you have a warm skin undertone. For the most part, like Italian women, a lot of them have the strong features that carry the weight of that much make up much better than I would with more northern DNA, Or whatever it is that gives me smaller pores and smaller features in general. No

I never needed mascara when I was young, and foundation looked like a bit much even when it was a great color (coverage for those occasional breakouts!), Clownish, really. Like I have been playing in my mother’s make up drawer.

All I needed was a little brow plucking, and lipgloss. (For a while I even put clear lipgloss on my eyelids. Interesting phase!)

Now at over 60, I attribute good skin to heredity plus leaving it alone for the most part. Gentle exfoliation and the occasional mask, all non-toxic non-chemical products for the most part. I cleanse it with water, and sometimes with the oil cleansing method. Hello yes oh hi Kimberly how are youI love it that people think I’m younger than I am. I don’t do additional SPF protection because I want my vitamin D. I go without foundation most of the time, but when I want a polished look I haven’t found anything better or more convenient than the Christina compact. It’s a compact of four colors (with lots of different options depending on your skin tone). Depending on the time of year I dip into either the lighter or the darker tones more. You can literally buff away minor imperfections and it does a good job of hiding bigger imperfections. There’s a light highlighter (Which I rarely use), A deep neutral for eyes (Which is my summer tan foundation choice because I don’t really do eyeshadow), a lighter neutral for skin (My regular foundation choice, occasionally mixed with the darker one as my skin changes from summer tan to winter pale), and a blush/bronzer color (which is fun to use in the summertime to enhance an outdoorsy Sun-kissed glow). It gives me the no make up look that I love while providing a professional polished look. What I love the most about it is how easy it is to travel with a little compact, a few different brushes, mascara and a little lip color and I’m good to go all in one little Zip bag.

I love your mascara trick, even though it feels a bit wasteful. I never seem to be able to wipe enough mascara off of the wand to get that clean look. I’m definitely going to try it. My lashes are no longer thick and full as they used to be, and a few have turned gray, so the mascara helps and I use a narrow angled brush to put on a super fine line of dark eyeshadow as my eyeliner. Regular eyeliner it just started to look a little too harsh. The fine line of powder makes it look like I’ve got thicker lashes, naturally. 😮Sometimes it’s deep, dark taupe, a dark graphite gray, or even a dark green gray. Depends on my mood. I love blending lipstick color also, and my goal, my favorite, is to go with the color of my lips, the deeper color just further in my mouth. Semi gloss still seems to work despite my age, Oddly enough. I mix whatever colors I’ve got to achieve that. Polished and completely harmonious.

  38. Magdalena Stasiak on December 11, 2022 at 3:04 am

I love that trick with using two colours of lipstick 💖 I was having trouble with finding right nude lipstick 😀

Hello, I’m new in your channel. Could you make videos about hair care? I’m looking for good effective products to apply or any advises.
Btw, I live in France for over 10 years now and I love your content.
    Bisous

  40. Barbara Connolly on December 11, 2022 at 3:09 am

I love the no make up look. However, I was in Central Paris and the looks there are far more eclectic now. From the natural look to the too much make up. It all exists there now. Along with a variety of fashions. No solo Parisian look anymore, except amongst older ladies who still enjoy elegance first. I think contouring just leaves grubby looking skin, never been a fan of it.

  41. Lupe Chacon-Florez on December 11, 2022 at 3:09 am

Angela I am so happy to find your channel. Being part French I have always appreciated this elegant and classic style. I will be visiting beautiful Paris soon. What month would you say is the best time to be in Paris amongst all the locals?

Thank you for this tutorial. I’ve never been into makeup. But lately, I decided to give it a chance and was looking for natural-looking makeup. I followed your tutorial, which perfectly resulted in what I was looking for! Discovering that you don’t need to use foundation since powder alone will be enough was a game changer. I appreciate your channel and your common sense advice.
