Young father of 7, whose wife collapsed and died, left speechless during Secret Santa surprise
On Wednesday, July 11, tragedy struck the home of Dakota and Ream Nelson. The parents of seven, ranging in age from 1-16, were working (but mostly playing) in their Ashton garage when Dakota went outside to put some tools away. Five minutes later he returned to find 38-year-old Ream lying on the ground. She was blue and not breathing.
Dakota immediately began CPR and yelled to their 11-year-old to call 911. Ream was rushed unconscious to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls and doctors determined her brain had been without oxygen for more than 20 minutes.
Three months later, on Sunday, Sept. 23, Ream passed away.
Dakota is now left to pick up the pieces as he’s a single parent and working three part-time jobs, including one as a Latter-day Saints Seminary teacher at North Fremont High School. It’s been a challenging year but he says he’s counting his blessings.

As he speaks of the death of his beloved wife (who died only 6 months prior) he doesn’t shed a tear. Decades of training not to cry in front of others. Decades of being taught that crying makes a man look weak, undesirable and feminine. It is only when he got the money when he couldn’t hold back his tears any longer, because all he could think about was what that money could do for his babies. And still there are women out there that say that men are pigs, dogs and dirtbags.
This melts my heart this guy is a hero for us all who have everything and still complaining about stupid little things .. videos like this makes you overthink your life and start appreciate ev you have

My wife passed away 3 weeks ago leaving me with our awesome 3 year old son. She got over sepsis and the hospital released her 2 days later she collapsed on our stairs saying she couldn’t move. Called The ambulance and they took her to the ER. By the time I got to go back and see her they had already put her in a coma and she never woke up. They had no idea what caused it. I remember being by her side for Almost 48 hours straight. Seeing the slightest movement and shaking her to please wake up. She was my best friend and soulmate. Anyone reading this please hug your S/O extra tight because it can be taken before you can even understand what’s going on.
7 kids… probably that is why she died…
