Great video, but I don’t Buy the Marilyns vaseline trick bc vaseline remove the makeup I use vaseline to remove it every day and it’s better than micelar water
Thank you very much Nice video
Great video! loved it. Why do you say Woman instead of Women?
I remember talking to a lovely old lady who was at my previous doctor’s office, and she told me that she and her friends back in the 50s would dye their hair with Easter egg dye tablets! They wanted colorful hair and though it killed their hair to do it (ammonia and all) they just loved it!
I have used pond’s cold cream since I was 13 years old. Plus I have used Chanel 5 since my husband bought it as a gift for me when we were first married. Plus I had really long hair and washed it every other day during winter and everyday in the summer. Never wore makeup since I am allergic and I get big blotches on my face.
“Today’s natural look” women wear layers of caked on make up nowadays! Nothing natural about today’s make up
This video is as great and well researched! I especially loved the ASMR sound effects that when with the treatments you were describing
I love this video! Going to put my little bar bells by my bed and try just lifting every morning get the blood flowing.
My mother in law would wash her hair once a week or when she trouble she will go with out washing for two weeks. This living in AZ where is always hot and you sweating a lot. 😏
False eyelashes were more familiar than mascara, despite the fact tube existed. So homemade mascara was also the exception. Another common mascara was basically a palette with black compact and a portable brush that you wet and use.
The dolls in the background of your video, are so pretty- are they named something specific, as i’d love to find them x
Top tip: be born with good genes 😂
Today’s more natural look? Literally every beauty influencer (men and women alike) are using foundation, contour and lashes. Great video though. Youve really done your research here. Thank you!
I grew up in Hawaii so my feet didn’t adjust to shoes and I now have what’s called luau feet. If I could water ski I wouldn’t need skies on my feet to surf the water 🤭
NATURAL, SAYS WHO? I HAVE WORN LASHES FOR YEARS 😂 I read exactly what you are reading, I can’t place where I read this ….. it’s gonna drive me nuts!!!!! I JUST LOVE LUCY!!! SHE WAS JUST BEAUTIFUL 😍😍😍 IT WAS 100 STROKES FOR THE HAIR LOL ….NOT BRUSH IT 100 TIMES A DAY.😂 I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL BY THE WAY! I’VE WATCHED SINCE YOU LITERALLY HAD A COUPLE THOUSAND SUBS! YOU GO GIRL!!!!
Makeup becoming an everyday thing instead of a special occasions thing is the opposite of freedom, it means it became something women were expected to wear every day. And you don’t ‘truly be your own self’ by changing your face to make it more conventionally attractive.
You have false consciousness on this matter.
All I can think of is Jackie Kennedy.
I only shampoo once a week, but I rinse and condition daily or every other day because I have dry coarse, curly hair. .
Very well done , really enjoyed this one ! 💄👓
Always mentioning the same movie stars. Where is Rita Hayward, Ava Gardner, Gene Tierney, Jennifer Jones, Susan Hayward, Cyd Charisse, Esther Williams…..etc.
Always the same examples, Marilyn, Elizabeth and Audrey.
Girl. Those dolls. I’m obsessed.
Just a quick question. Why is your camera positioned so high?
Where did you find the article you are reading through most of this video? Do you have a collection of vintage magazines or did you find it online?
Love this, great stuff
I was born in the late 60s and have such great memories of going through my mom’s and step ~ grandmother’s vintage things especially the makeup 💄❣️ I wish I’d kept it over the years for my daughters ya know..but ya awesome memories ‼️🥰
Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream is a great one
Women? Or woman? Isn’t the commentator American?

I love the fashion of the fifties!!
I’ve always washed my face with Dove soap and moisturized with Nivea creme at night. I always wear spf during the day and I look great for my age.
Vim Hof 😂 I feel like more people should know what a joke that man really is. When I lived in Amsterdam, he sat on a fountain in a park to give himself an enema….the strength of the water pressure severed his intestine and he needed immediate medical attention.
Although these styles/looks are very pretty and I appreciate them artistically, I totally get why a counter culture happened! It must have been SO very freeing once people finally broke out of all these rigid routines & rituals & went back to nature. Yay hippies! Lol
Today’s natural look??
have u look around make up gurus on YouTube , hell, in the street? It’s more dramatic than ever, anything goes, especially fir my sisters and brothers of the gothic world, ANYTHING BUT NATURAL guurlll, camon now…
Imagine having the money to go to the salon weekly on one income for the family. We are getting screwed, kids.
IDEA. MOT IDEAL!
The second picture you used of Marilyn in cat eye glasses is actually world famous Marilyn impersonator Jimmy James … this picture gets mistaken for Monroe all the time ❤️
Dry shampoo is just cornstarch, baby powder has the ingredients and it’s much cheaper than dry shampoo
I didnt know today’s look was natural lol
My neighbor still wears rollers all the time 🙂
When we went into stores we were dressed in the 50’s. Today you see people dressed like they are going to bed or the beach or appear to wear underwear. So forget the makeup. I be happy if they dressed in decent clothes.
I mean this in the nicest way but this is why the women back then were a timeless priceless natural type of beauty that lasted i love looking at pics of women back then their just so naturally pretty even without the make up they used and sometimes ill see alot of amish girls with the prettiest faces n i feel like it is because they use less on their faces i love when i see an old time style of beauty instead of someone whos just hott its just so different
What dry shampoo do you recommend?
Please make a video about Carolyn Kennedy!!

Was that employee so underpaid?
I can’t thank you enough for your content💖💖💖
I don’t think it has to do with vintage, it’s generational wearing hair curlers. My Gram grew up in the 40’s and she and her sisters rolled their hair every night b4 bed and she did it with my hair and I’m in my 20’s of course I don’t wear hard curlers only soft lol
Jergens facial cleanser cream is what I use. My skin never looked better and never got another pimple.
My grandmother had blue face cream called "happy face". It was in a cute bottle. I was born in 1957. My grandparents lived only 2 houses away. It was great having 2 options for dinner! I adored Gramma. My dad was a lot like her. He was the best man I’ve ever known.
Thank you so much, very informative and sweet
Sleeping with haircurlers???
That is torture 😫
johnson baby powder contained asbestos i heard .
