I have a profound hearing loss, which means I have to read everything, you talk so fast it is hard to keep up. I like your site very much, but trying to keep up with the words is difficult.

Margaret the color of your top is YOUR color—you look beautiful! I love love love your makeup videos. Instead of purchasing more makeup I’m trying to improve my techniques using the makeup I already have. I watched an old Wayne Goss video in which he advised not to apply foundation all over the face but to just dot foundation or concealer strategically over little imperfections then blend in with a sponge. I started using e.l.f. Hydrating Camo Concealer ($7 USD) on just age spots/sun damaged spots, avoiding the wrinkles, and it has been a complete game changer! Looks so much fresher on me than a full face of foundation. I share your attitude that makeup is for fun and creativity!

Using your peach blush mixed with concealer as a corrector really is genius! Peach corrects blue. Great idea!!!

  8. Wanda T on December 10, 2022 at 2:21 am

Great idea to use what we have. I’m trying to do just that. I get the urge to purchase new products but I’m doing my best to finish up the products I have and love. I enjoy all of your videos!

My favorite foundation is Born To Glow by NYX. Everything else is too thick or the color is not natural enough to suit me. I use mostly Essence lipsticks, some Milani. I love their colors. Essence Long Lasting will last all day. Blush, I like cream’s or liquids only: Milani, Flower, etc. I also love cream eyeshadows. I do not like palettes of powders. I don’t use any highlighters and rarely use any concealers. Mascara now is Essence, but truthfully it leaves mascara dust all over under my eyes, so I prefer Great Lash by Maybeline.

  12. Cindy Price on December 10, 2022 at 2:25 am

Hi Margaret. I love the Milani cream blush. It blends out so nice and stays on all day.

I am with you – I love oil of olay /cover girl foundation

  14. Carolyn Stockton on December 10, 2022 at 2:30 am

I agree with you about Believe foundation. It’s a nice surprise.

  15. Tricia Glenn on December 10, 2022 at 2:31 am

My current go -to foundations for my 65 year old skin are Believe Beauty and Covergirl Simply Ageless Cream Foundation in the glass container. They both offer good coverage when applied with a brush.

Lovely look Margaret! As always, you bring us a gal’s eye view of what is good!
And boy are you right! You could do a whole face in just Elf products!
Unfortunately, the Essence mascara ( in the green) transfers on me… it is gives a beautiful look to the eyelashes though! I have to do one coat of it and then add another mascara on top of it to keep the transfer from happening…
Have a lovely rest of the weekend… 💚

I have actually been told, drug store make up isn’t as good as the high end ones. I questioned that and love that you made this video and affirmed drug store makeup IS as good! Thank you so much.

  18. Nancy on December 10, 2022 at 2:37 am

Hi Margaret!! I enjoyed this video. I rarely wear makeup anymore, but I do "put on" an eyebrow. I’ve practically ruined mine, so the eyebrow pencil is useful. Love your necklace, too! Thanks for all your positive and informative videos. 🙂

  19. Pat B on December 10, 2022 at 2:42 am

Margaret, I concur: closet shop & use those tried & true classics that work equally as good as the new-new…..which could be just repackaged classics. When wearing makeup, I use the Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator & blush. Pat

  20. Deborah Powell on December 10, 2022 at 2:44 am

You look great,Margaret but I’m obsessed with RMS these days. 😀

  21. Chloe Wright on December 10, 2022 at 2:45 am

i’m in my 20’s and i love your videos.

  22. Lynn on December 10, 2022 at 2:47 am

Please always research if ALL of the products we use are cruelty-free. No excuse nowadays to purchase from companies that still do animal testing. This is a very good list!

  23. Susan McKay on December 10, 2022 at 2:47 am

Your makeup is lovely! Love the necklace too. I use mostly ELF and Milani products, so affordable! Thanks for another great video!

  24. Tracy Federman on December 10, 2022 at 2:48 am

I’m often now, at almost 68, wondering if I still want to wear makeup. I decided to try your suggested MissA products because how can you lose, so inexpensive. Kind of a last foray into experimenting with things I’ve never found useful, like eye shadow and foundation. I went nuts on that sight and bought $37 worth of stuff. I’ve received it but haven’t tried any yet as I still have much of my own. I like to enhance my face, never been much for wild colors, just want to look more awake and alive. You have inspired me otherwise. I still struggle though with the idea that makeup is old fashioned and we ought to accept ourselves just as we step out of the shower (most men do) and give up all this fluff. It’s such a conundrum. I know you have fun with it and it is a passion of yours, but do you ever consider tossing it? ❤️U

Today I used colorpop!! You have a good day. This weekend Americans are celebrating memorial day.

I’ve found L’Oreal products to be reliable and affordable and accessible.

  27. Mel P on December 10, 2022 at 2:49 am

These are fantastic items! I agree, my luxe beauty products are few, and not affordable for size you get.
I love these and will try those I’ve not heard of! Much appreciation !!! ❤

Hi Margaret 👋 wonderful video once again & you look so pretty! My new favorite mascara is Cover Girl Exhibitionist Stretch and Strengthen. It’s amazing you have to try it Doreen Eischen Indiana USA

  29. Rosey C. on December 10, 2022 at 2:51 am

Margaret, I’m all about the drugstore products! I’ve hardly ever had the budget (or desire) for high-end, tbh. They’ve come a long way. And, even in the 1960’s, I remember buying Westmore liquid foundation (my first one!) in Woolworth’s. A good brand, and, I still remember the slight scent it had. That Milani blush does look very pretty. I’m drugstore all the way. Thanks so much; you look quite smashing..enjoy your weekend.🙂

I can’t believe I have never tried a Believe product. I know it’s not online and many people don’t have a Dollar General close by. That’s no excuse for me. I have one about 3 miles from my house. I just have never gone there but I am going to. I no longer drive but my husband would be glad to take me. You have a good variety. The eyeshadow palette is very pretty. Take care.

  31. Ginny Burley on December 10, 2022 at 2:54 am

The theme for the latest and greatest in base makeup anyway seems to be a focus on trending ingredients, like niaminicide or hyaluronic acid. Not all of those trendy ingredients merit attention, I think, since a good skincare regimen allows us to include or exclude the ingredients that work for us individually.

  32. Karen Cohen on December 10, 2022 at 2:54 am

Love the new shorter hair do!! I did the same as it seems to lift my face a bit💓👍🏻 always enjoy your videos! Just bought that Wet n wild hydrater! Perfect instead of heavier foundation( No 7) for warmer months
I’ve been using Essence products alot!! and just bought the "no 🐼 Eyes" mascara which is supposed to be one of the new gen tubing mascaras! Will let u know as I have 5 dif mascaras I rotate 😂😍

  33. Delana Healey on December 10, 2022 at 2:55 am

Really loved this video. I live in Western Australia and we can’t get a lot of the products available elsewhere in the world. Our prices have skyrocketed as well. Our drugstore prices are as high as your middle range of cosmetics, therefore I have to buy drugstore or don’t buy at all. I just save for a while and then only buy when I have run out. But your videos help me look for different brands. Keep the videos coming as they are enjoyable and informative.

Hi, I’m a new subscriber, loved watching your video about divorce after 60. I live in abuse and feel so alone. You see hes disabled and I have to take care of him. He says bad things and gets on line and spends so much money on big things with out even disscussing it with me. Its not little things its expensive things that most husbands and wives talk about. Anyway love your channel💕💕

Would love a tour of your city. The coffee and bakery shops. Must be so fascinating to live in Switzerland.

  41. Sharon Brame on December 10, 2022 at 3:04 am

just make sure it is not made in China. Remember they have issues with lead in their makeup. Especially the lower priced stores.

  42. Lana Palij on December 10, 2022 at 3:07 am

I found the BEST Foundation at Walgreens! In the right color for me, which is Porcelain. It’s No7. It even covers my under eye circles!
And, all you need is a dot of it to work. So, I have an Estée Lauder, and a Channel Foundation, too, but the shade is way too beige! I let the “Cosmetic” expert pick the shade, but sadly, they were both WRONG for my skin tone. Lesson learned!

    Love this Margaret..thanks

I’m so happy you are doing drugstore makeup. I’m almost 60 and getting back into makeup. I never have a good experience in the makeup stores, So instead I’m trying to go all drugstore. I love Elta Md tinted sunscreen and I use that for my foundation. It’s the only thing that disguises my large pores. I have 2 brow pencils I like. Next is to find blush. Wish me luck 😘

Hi I to am enjoying Revolution products ,I highly recommend Revolution Pro Cream Skin Perfector CC cream .I found it by accident and am now ditching foundation ,try it I think you will like it .I have very mature skin (72 years old) and it works really well .

  46. les bons chiens on December 10, 2022 at 3:11 am

I recently discovered an inexpensive brand that I’d not before known, and I just love it!

It’s called Palladio. I bought a blush and lipstick from Amazon, then was told that Sally Beauty carries this line.

I’m quite different coloured than you, Margaret, and I did not look at the lighter palettes.

The lipstick is called Chianti and it’s a rich crimson, soft finish (not matte and not glossy,) and it wears like the old-fashioned lipsticks, rather-than the newer glosses.

Same with the blush. I bought a burgundy red, which isn’t a colour I think you’d favour, but it’s so highly pigmented, blends well, and wears all day.

I’ve heard so much good about that Dollar General foundation. I’m eager to give it a try.

  47. Zeljka Bozic on December 10, 2022 at 3:11 am

I like Revolution pallets. You made a good review

  48. Jane Dunlap on December 10, 2022 at 3:12 am

Thank you Margaret for your "affordable" makeup recommendations. Everything is getting so pricey (gas $6.65 a gl here in CA)..this is helpful.
    I ❤ NYX lipstick..inexpensive and beautiful colors

  49. les bons chiens on December 10, 2022 at 3:14 am

Oh my, Margaret! You look absolutely radiant today.

Have you seen the advertisement for IlMakiage? It’s the company who offers foundation for which you take a little colour quiz and they send you the proper colour.

Well, I did it and the foundation itself, called “Woke Up Like This” is a lovely texture, medium coverage liquid foundation.

The colour I received is a touch too dark, so I contacted customer care and they’ve already sent me the half-shade lighter, plus a $20. gift code for “giving (them) a second chance.”

I’m eager to get my new foundation an just so favourably impressed with this company.

Perhaps you’d be interest in trying this new company.

    ♥️
